Mr. Burkhead serves as Director of Marketing and Research for Aviation Management Systems, Inc. Chuck has more than twelve years of experience in business and commercial aviation. He has an extensive background in aircraft management, flight operations, research & analysis, and marketing.

Chuck’s penchant for aviation began at the age of 16. Chuck worked at a local FBO and earned his private pilot’s license on his 17^th birthday. He earned his commercial pilot certificate shortly after graduating High School and became a certified flight instructor.   

Chuck holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and is working toward an MBA from the Whittemore School of Business. He is an active Commercial pilot and Certified Flight Instructor with over 3,000 hours. 

While attending college, Chuck flew Merlin III turbo-prop aircraft for high profile clients in the New York metro area. He continues to manage and fly several Part 91 aircraft for various aircraft owners. 

After earning his business degree from UNH, Chuck pursued a parallel career in Sales and Marketing. He was the national sales manager at Mercury Computer Systems for the revolutionary VistaNav synthetic vision system for general aviation aircraft. Chuck led the sales effort from its early inception until acquisition by Honeywell in 2006.    

Prior to joining AMS, Chuck served as the Sales and Marketing Manager for the Sleepnet Corporation, the only U.S. based manufacturer of medical masks for the treatment of sleep apnea. He was primarily responsible for developing the analytical capabilities of Sleepnet and forming the sales strategy for the organization.   

In addition to his aviation and business career paths, Chuck personally developed and currently maintains multiple real estate ventures. He has contributed to the development business and strategic plans of several startup companies. Chuck combines his multi-faceted business acumen with deep rooted experience in the business aviation industry to create unique approaches to research and analysis.
